Welcome to the Bay of Islands SPCA

As a purely voluntary organisation we rely on income from donations, bequests and our own fund-raising efforts. In addition to this we are dependant on the tireless efforts of our volunteer team who help us provide sanctuary and a second chance to local animals. For more information please click here.

SPCA's FREE PET FOOD desexing scheme. You can enrol on the SPCA's desexing programme anytime - when you make weekly payments toward your pets desexing operation, you will receive free pet food each week.

Reef being reunited with his family

SPCA's Microchipping service. The SPCA can microchip your dog or cat for you and list it on a national internet database called The Companion Animal Register.

Reef the Staffordshire Bull Terrier (pictured left) was stolen but because he was microchipped, Reef was identified and reunited with his original family. Contact us for more details about microchipping.

At the SPCA we've got lots to shout about!

Why adopt an   Bay of Islands SPCA - Kerikeri dog??

SPCA dogs are either desexed (if older than 6 months) or come with a desexing voucher So your new dog will not burden you with unwanted puppies or contribute to the epidemic of neglected  homeless animals.

  • SPCA dogs have been health checked and vaccinated

  • SPCA dogs have been microchipped

  • SPCA dogs are registered with the Council

So your new dog has the best protection we can give it against becoming sick. If they become lost they have the greatest chance of being reunited with you and you don’t have the hassle and expense of fulfilling this legal requirement. The price you pay for an SPCA dog has been discounted by our providers and subsidised by us so you save money and when you adopt an SPCA dog you free up one of our spaces - enabling us to rescue another neglected or abused or homeless dog. They need your love and we need your support. Help us find an SPCA dog or cat a home today. Thank you.

Thank you. To those of you who support us already, by donation, sponsorship, or your valuable time as volunteers,
we thank you on behalf of the animals. Without you, there would be no local SPCA. Thank you!
